Ageing Skin

The initial signs of ageing start to appear in our mid-20s as we start losing collagen by 1% each year. As a result, our skin slowly becomes thinner and more fragile. In addition, external factors like pollutants of the environment, damaging UV rays, improper use of cosmetic products, lifestyle, stress, hormonal change or bad dietary habits can cause dryness, fine lines, wrinkles, sun damage, and lax rough skin. Ageing skin also decreases the natural production of hyaluronic acid, causing dry and dull skin without that healthy glow.

Dry & Dehydrated Skin

Dryness and dehydrated skin can creep out of nowhere and have serious consequences—concerns like flakiness, inflammation, irritation and premature wrinkling are widespread. Dry skin often results from deeper factors such as genetics, age, hormonal imbalances, or inadequate oil production by our glands. In contrast, dehydrated skin can result from lifestyle conditions such as insufficient water intake, high caffeine consumption, unhealthy diet, weather, environmental factors, medication and improper skin care practices. No matter the cause, the impact is often the same. Our skin slows the production of hyaluronic acid and collagen, leaving our skin appearing deflated and dull.

Sun Damaged Skin

Many of us love laying in the sun or a tanning bed but overexposure simply isn’t healthy.  Hyperpigmentation, such as sunspots, dark spots, melasma, pregnancy mask, and liver spots are a common side effect of skin’s prolonged exposure to ultraviolet rays. Even though hormones may play a part in this reaction, not properly protecting our skin cells with a good SPF lotion is the underlying issue.
